Join the Network of European Blue Schools: Little waves make a big ocean!

What is the Network of European Blue Schools?

The Network of European Blue Schools is an initiative of the European Ocean Coalition (EU4Ocean), bringing together teachers across Europe to foster Ocean Literacy in classrooms. Schools can apply to join the network during the calls for schools that are open twice a year and become part of a growing movement dedicated to ocean education.

Submissions for the Network of European Blue Schools are now open. Do you want to acquire this Blue School Certificate? Submit your project by 30 May 2025!

Why join?

By becoming a European Blue School, teachers empower students with the knowledge and skills to understand the ocean’s importance, the challenges it faces, and the opportunities it offers. The network provides:

  • Educational resources to support ocean-related learning
  • Exclusive events to connect with experts and like-minded educators
  • Certification recognizing your school’s commitment to ocean literacy
  • Partnership opportunities with schools and ocean professionals across Europe

Through this initiative, schools actively contribute to the EU Mission “Restore our Ocean and Waters by 2030”, and SHORE is here to support institutions throughout the process, providing them guidance to successfully join the network through our Country Hubs.
