SHORE at the Baltic Blueprints Expo
Where education meets the blue economy
On 10 March 2026 in Kiel, Germany, SHORE was part of the Baltic Blueprints Expo: How Baltic Sea Farming Can Support Life and Livelihoods, an event that brought together innovators, marine farmers, practitioners, and representatives of the European Commission, including Tomislav Pinter from the Directorate-General for Regional and Urban Policy (DG REGIO).
Within this space focused on real solutions for the blue economy, SHORE added a different – and much-needed – perspective: education.
As part of the exhibition, the Polish SHORE Hub (WSB University) showcased project results and, most importantly, presented inspiring school initiatives from across the Baltic Sea region. The SHORE booth became a meeting point for conversations between educators and blue economy practitioners – something truly unique at the event, as SHORE was the only initiative focused on youth education. Ewelina Widerska (WSB University) and Joanna Makocka (F6S) actively promoted SHORE, its results, and the work of Baltic schools.

Two school projects especially stood out:
- Lithuania – “Blue Minds, Bright Future”: Students explored water quality, marine pollution, and biodiversity through hands-on research and creative activities, growing into active ambassadors for ocean protection .
- Latvia – “Baltic Beacon: AI, Art & Action for the Green Deal”: A creative and forward-looking project combining AI, art, and environmental awareness to engage young people in sustainability challenges.
What made this presence special was the connection it created – showing how the knowledge, challenges, and innovations discussed by experts can and should be translated into education from the earliest stages. SHORE demonstrated that building a sustainable blue economy starts with informed, engaged young people.
