Triple funding opportunity for schools!

SHORE, ProBleu and BlueLightS have launched their open calls for primary and secondary schools

SHORE, ProBlue and BlueLightS, have launched their funding calls in September. This is a fantastic opportunity for schools to secure funding for projects to enhance water and ocean literacy.

The three projects, under the EU Mission ‘Restore our ocean and waters by 2030”, are committed to increasing ocean literacy and fostering environmental stewardship in school communities. Each project has its own open call timeline:

  • SHORE: Grants up to 10,000€. Opens on 18 September, closes on 20 November at 17:00 CET.
  • BlueLightS: Grants up to 3,000€. Opens on 15 September, closes on 15 November.
  • ProBleu: Three category grants: 2,500, 5,000 and 7,500€. Opens on 20 September, closes on 21 November 23:59h CET

Each project has unique features tailored to different needs. SHORE has specific targeted regions (Mediterranean Sea, Black Sea, Baltic Sea, Danube River and Rhine River) for its projects, ensuring focused impact with the support of its Country Hubs. ProBleu offers lots for both marine and freshwater projects and encourages submissions of citizen science initiatives. BlueLightS emphasises innovative approaches to resilience and sustainability and requires funded schools to join experimentation activities and participate in Community of Practice meetings.

The primary goals of these projects are to support the objectives of Mission Ocean & Waters and expand the Network of European Blue Schools (NEBS). All applicant schools should be certified Blue Schools, a separate procedure or in the process of becoming an European Blue School. This accreditation connects schools to a wealth of resources, information, and additional funding opportunities.
