Grant for schools: SHORE’s first open call is launched!

The SHORE project has launched its first open call (17 January – 20 March 2024) to fund school projects on ocean and water literacy with grants reaching up to 10,000€ per project.

What is a blue project?

The SHORE Open Call welcomes proposals on a variety of topics aimed at increasing the ocean and water literacy of primary and secondary schools students. Ocean and water literacy relates to the understanding of how ocean, seas, and rivers impact us and how we affect them. Find a list of relevant topics and activities here.

Who can apply?

Schools established in the European Union or an Horizon Europe Associated Countries and located in one of our five regional target areas (Baltic Sea, Black Sea, Mediterranean Sea, Rhine River, and Danube River) can apply for a grant. See here the full list of countries and the eligibility criteria.

Schools can submit their blue project from 17 January until 20 March 2024 at 17:00 (CET)..

Read the open call documentation carefully and submit your project on the SHORE submission platform. After an evaluation by external assessors, grants reaching up to 10,000€ will be awarded to the selected projects.

SHORE aims to enhance the ocean and water literacy of primary and secondary school students and educators by empowering youth to become agents of change and eco-citizens. Through this open call, SHORE will provide grants for schools to implement blue projects and help achieve the EU’s Mission Ocean objectives.
