SHORE last and final Open Call is now closed!

The final SHORE Open Call has now closed, marking the last opportunity to receive funding from the SHORE project for school-led Blue Projects.

A total of 195 applications were submitted from 22 different countries, demonstrating strong and widespread interest in advancing blue education. All target areas defined by SHORE were represented, highlighting the diversity and relevance of the proposed initiatives.

The submitted projects cover a wide range of topics aligned with SHORE’s five thematic priorities:

  • Sea-based activities: 55 project proposals
  • Hazardous substances and marine litter: 68 project proposals
  • Biodiversity: 37 project proposals
  • Climate change: 18 project proposals
  • Sustainable use of water resources: 31 project proposals

The evaluation and selection process is currently underway and will continue through August 2025. Selected schools will be notified in early September, at which point the contracting phase will begin. Project implementation is expected to start in October 2025 and run until March 2026.

This final call marks an important milestone in the SHORE journey. We’re inspired by the continued enthusiasm and commitment of schools across Europe to engage students in meaningful, hands-on learning experiences around ocean and water issues.

Stay tuned! The names of the selected schools will be revealed soon.

Together, let’s make waves for a ‘bluer’ education!
